ole description: T

he position requires a minimum of 10 years experience specifically in the field of stormwater management with a focus on: detailed planning, project development, feasibility studies, engineering design and project implementation. The candidate will be located in the NY office and will lead Arcadis’ stormwater management practice in New York and the surrounding area. The position will also support a backlog of local and national projects. T

he Engineer will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge to develop, lead and support projects. They will have a proven reputation with clients as a professional and dynamic engineer that communicates clearly and effectively and successfully executes projects. This is an outstanding opportunity that needs an individual with the ability to lead and partner while working collaboratively on a wide variety of projects at a variety of scales, in a ‘hands-on’ role with an expectation of also supporting client development activities for municipal, state, federal and private sector clients. ole accountabilities: C

  • oordinating with local and nationwide teams for project delivery. P
  • lanning and design support for hazard mitigation, stormwater management, green infrastructure, environmental and social impact analysis, and other resiliency needs. P
  • reparation and review of design calculations and drawings. C
  • oordination of work with engineers of other disciplines with a working knowledge of structural and geotechnical engineering concepts. A

  • ssisting with the identification and description of cost effective, technically feasible, and environmentally sound resilience actions. P

  • romoting the application of technologies (fllodplain and stormwater anaylsis models, cost estimating tools, GIS Automation, etc.) and reasearch new and emerging technologies to bring effiency and clarify to assignments. W

  • ork with coastal and hydraulic modelers to develop flood and stormwater risk mapping, reporting, and presentation materials to commuicate and inform commuities and stakeholders regarding risks. Q

ualifications & Experience: B

  • achelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. M
  • inimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering with flood mitigation E
  • xperience and expertise in one or more of the following: general civil engineering with an emphasis on heavy infrastructure, coastal and riverine storm and flood mitigation and stormwater management. D
  • emostrated experience in developing innovative project implemmentation solutions. E
  • xperience in growing and developing teams, mentoring staff U
  • nderstanding of permitting and regulating pathways to project implementation S
  • trong knowledge and experience with preparation and/or review of engineering plans to ensure that all aspects of project implementation are clearly conveyed as well as an understanding of CAD and the processes required for creation for construction ready drawings such as generating alignments, working with survey, grading, roadway design, utilities, detail creatation etc. U
  • nderstanding of specifications and thier relation to the drawings as well as experience writing/editing specifications. E
  • xperience with flood hazard analysis and planning. P
