We are currently seeking an experienced hospitality Assistant Centralized Controller to round out our outstanding team of accounting professionals at our corporate office. This position will report to the Corporate Director of Accounting.
What You Will Bring To This Role:
The Assistant Centralized Controller will be responsible for accounting, financial reporting and controllership functions for assigned hotels which are accounted for on a centralized basis. This would include general oversight and guidance to property level accountants and working with corporate accounting team in supporting our portfolio of hotels.
What you Will Be Doing:
  • Complete the “Month End” process including preparing journal entries for income, payroll, amortizing prepaid items, booking accruals and other items.
  • Preparing an accurate Profit and Loss statement monthly.
  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
    • Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax filings.
  • Maintain Property accounting controls such as cash, petty cash, purchasing, inventory, intercompany transactions, and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Work with department heads on completing budgets and forecasts
  • Assist GM’s on P&L analysis and variance explanations.
  • Provide tools to help department heads to enhance their ability to manage effectively
  • .Oversee monthly cash flow forecasts.
  • Oversee and maintain the Capital Budget
  • Perform other duties and assigned by supervisor.
  • Assist with Corporate office accounting
  • Balance extensive intercompany accounts for maintenance charges, housekeeping charges, and departmental allocations.
  • Assist Director in internal and external audits.
  • Train and develop accounting staff and department heads as requested.
  • All duties as assigned
Your Qualifications and Experience Would Include:
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related hotel accounting or hotel administrative capacity; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related hospitality experience.
  • Analytical, highly organized, excellent multi-tasking ability, flexibility,
  • Excels in written and verbal communication with strong mathematical skills,
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and in particular Excel.
  • Possess knowledge of, and the desire to become proficient with company approved technology platforms including payroll, HRIS, POS, Payroll procedures, etc
  • Calm, professional demeanor, with genuine commitment to providing excellent service to both internal and external guests.
